The music band belongs to the alternative rock type songs. The music group was in active from the year of 1987 to 1994. Initially the band selected a set of names which also Skid Row, Pen cap Chew, Bliss and Ted Ed Fred. But finally they selected on Nirvana in 1988. The former members of the music group were Aaron Burckhard, Chad Channing, Dale Crover, Jason Everman, Dave Foster and Dan Peters. In earlier 1988 the music band had released their first music single “Love Buzz/ Big Cheese” on Seattle. Within a year the music band also released their first music album “Bleech”. Nirvana was disbanded but individual members were in active with music. The music band committed with the Sub Pop records and DGC/Geffen records. The song “Smells Like Teen Spirit” made the music troop to enter in to the kind of alternative rock which is called as Grunge. The music band worked through a variety of songs for two weeks in their own effort. Cobain used to described band when they first started as "a Gang of Four and Scratch Acid ripoff."

This music album was stayed for a month in the board. In September 1993 the music album “In Utero” was climbed to number one on the Billboard 200 music album chart. But this songs was not achieved the hit success of the music album “Nevermind”. The release of Unplugged in New York, a video song compilation of Nirvana performed the song Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!, was released then two years later. This video song was promoted by the Cobain.
