“Dolly Rebecca Parton” was born on January 19,1946. She is a country music singer/songwriter, author, actress and philanthropist. She won many Grammy awards and became more popular till 1960-1970.

Career beginning

In 1967, Parton was asked to join the weekly organisation country music TV song program performed by “Porter Wagoner” by replacing “Norma Jean” who had returned to Oklahoma. During 1968 the duo's first music song was "The Last Thing on My Mind" which reached the country Top Ten and launched a six-year band of almost peaked Top Ten music single songs. Parton's first solo song was "Just Because I'm a Woman" and released in the summer of 1968. And this song was a moderate hit song which reached number 17. The musical duo was named as a Vocal Group singer of the Year in 1968 by the “Country Music Association”. For the next two years, Parton had a number of solo hit songs including her signature song "Coat of Many Colors". In 1974, she releasd a song named as "I Will Always Love You” and this song went to no.1 position on the country music charts.

During the year 1999,”Dolly Parton” recorded some songs with serious theme of explaining about the bluegrass.In 1999 the video music album called "The Grass is Blue" song was released. And in 2001 "Little Sparrow" song was released.Both the songs won Grammy Awards. Her 2002 video music album "Halos & Horns" song included a bluegrass version of the Led Zeppelin classic Stairway to Heaven. In 2005, Parton released the song “Those Were The Days”. She achieved success by her hit songs from the folk-rock throughout the period of 1960s and 1970s. In 2006,”Dolly Parton” earned her second Oscar nomination for "Travelin' Thru" song which she wrote specifically for the film Transamerica. On February 26, 2008 the latest video song called as “Backwoods Barbie” was released and reached no.2 on the country charts. The music album reached no.17 on the all-genre Billboard 200 music albums chart and this music album placed the highest success in her career. For her sweet voice and for the song he had a big fan base.

Dolly Parton was nominated for about 42 Grammy Awards, in which she was honored and awarded seven Grammy Awards. Dolly Parton At the American Music Awards she had won three awards and also received 18 nominations. Dolly Parton was credited with the biggest honor, "Entertainer of the Year."
