Actually there were no horns traited on the track instead being traded for layered synthesizers and gravier fainted electric guitars in a more updated 1980's fashion. This was done to renew the band that was considered by some to be past its commercial prime at the time. The songs "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" song segued into "Get Away”song. The song "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" was appeared at the end of the movie Summer Lovers in 1982.

In 1996,The R&B band Az Yet added the cover version on their self-titled debut music album which reached at 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100 music chart. The featuring a vocal cameo recital by Peter Cetera. The single reached platinum status and was selected for a Grammy Award also nominated as Best Performance by an R&B Group or Duo. In 2007 Westlife did a cover of this song. It was the B-side to their single Home which was the first song from their 9th music album “Back Home”. This single attained the number one position in Billboard Hot 100 single on September 11,1982 . The song hit Number 1 for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on September 11 .
