Well when it comes to music… Britney Spears just pops into mind. This young singer had shot to fame with her debut single album "…Baby One More Time". The fourth quarter of 1998, saw the release of this super-hit music album...Baby One More Time that took Britney straight to the hall of fame. Written and produced by Max Martin, the song "...Baby One More Time" as well as the album officially introduced Britney Spears to the music world, hitting radio stations worldwide in late 1998. Surprisingly these lyrics were penned originally for TLC which they rejected on the grounds of being "too pop”. Simon Cowell also tried but failed to acquire this song for his band, 5ive. This immensely popular music video, set in a high school, became the most demanded video ever on any UK channel, The Box, and, when commercially released in UK in February 1999, soared straight to number one, becoming the biggest selling music record of the year, and soon also hit number one position in 18 other countries, including the USA.=== Edit

Phew!!! Some heroic feat to be achieved with the first single album… isn’t it? Directed by Nigel Dick, the "...Baby One More Time" music video is what arguably fueled the single to become an overnight success. The original planned setup, however, was in shocking contrast to what ultimately became the final product. The plan, as the sources say was to have the video in a cartoon-like environment, a plausible attempt to attract the audience of younger children supposedly. However, Spears was reportedly unhappy with this, and convinced the director that the setting of the song should be a bit more mature. So, the childish nature of the primary plan was boxed, and what immerged instead was Britney's idea of the super-sexy music video. Her now-celebrated, fashion icon sexy schoolgirl outfit followed this plan, and the video's production went underway. This music video featuring the song ‘…. Baby One More Time’ was shot at Venice High School in California, the video beginning with Spears in a particularly boring class right at the fag end of the day. Britney’s assistant Felicia played the role of the strict hawk eyed teacher. The schoolgirl outfit worn by Spears in the video can be spotted at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The Greatest Hits: My Prerogative (DVD) released in 2004 however has two alternate versions of the video glimpses of which can be downloaded from any popular pop sites. Further on, in April, 2005, the British network ITV aired a short series called Hit Me Baby One More Time hosted by Vernon Kay. The music video became such a phenomenal hit that it earned Spears her first three MTV Video Music Award nominations in the categories of Best Pop Video, Best New Artist and, most prominently, Best Female Video. Despite her losses at the VMAs, this music album still won numerous awards, including a Teen Choice Award for Choice Single and an MTV Europe Music Award for Best Song. However the chief feather in Britney’s cap came when this video got her the nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. So hey! What are you waiting for?
